Which, IMHO, isn't that bad. Sometimes you just want the tried and true, so I'm going to paste my review for Asdivine Hearts below. The only caveats I would add for this game are: the difficulty level for this game is WAAAAY lower than Asdivine Hearts. My first play through I felt I HAD to put the difficulty level to "HELL" just to get a challenge. One thing that was actually fun about this game was Alchemy Stones/In-Game shop. My guess is this was something in the mobile version that was a "Pay-2-Win" real money store, but in the PC version they both give you Alchemy Stones when you start, and allow you to collect them from battles. I'm glad Kemco included it, and that it was free. While it made the game easier than it needed to be, it was fun collecting stones and trying for better weapons."Kemco, the makers of many classic SNES games like Top Gear and Lagoon, and who now makes games nearly exclusively for the mobile market, decided to make/translate a few of their games to the PC. (And FWIW I wish they would bring more to the PC).I've played their games before many times on many systems, and one thing all their games seem to have in common is an almost generic consistancy. They don't push the envelope in terms of graphics or gameplay. But sometimes that's OK: there are thoes times when you just want to play the tried and true, and stay within familar territory. Such is Asdivine Heats. It is, esentially, an SNES-like RPG with (somewhat) updated graphics and gameplay. A simple, but somewhat entertaining story and a decent but nothing special battle system. But here's the thing: there are LOTS of people out there LIKE ME who ENJOY and appreciate a game with such elements. And Asdivine Hearts hits all those notes PERFECTLY.I can't imagine someone who STILL looks back fondly at games like Breath of Fire, Lufia, and Final Fantasy II/IV NOT liking Asdivine Hearts. I like the game enough to CRY OUT to Kemco to bring the 2 sequels to the PC. This game turns my nostalgia feels to 8.". No fullscreen and 30 FPS lock.. Yet another game I've beaten, and this one is rather interesting... The main problem I have reviewing this game is I typically review games not against each other but what they are trying to emulate. The problem with this game in particular is that compared so far to games from this company RELEASED ON STEAM might I add, this game fails in two major categories: Difficulty and Rewarding the player. What do I mean by these? Well let's start with the first, typically in an rpg especially one like this which allows you to alter the difficulty at any time, I usually expect that most stuff will be pretty difficult on higher difficulties. However the way the game is made, normal enemies are pathetically weak, unless you are facing a dragon, 99% of the time you will one shot whatever you come across. The bosses on the other hand will clean your clock on the highest difficulty... That is if you go in blind. If you play this game like any normal rpg and try and make yourself as strong as possible, not even the 2 superbosses (yes only 2) cannot even make a ♥♥♥♥♥ in your armor at the highest difficulty! It's kind of embarassing. As for the other, if you have read my Revenant Saga review you know in that game there are Record Keepers across the game that reward you for stuff, and it gives the player incentive to try things they normally wouldn't. Here however there is still a records screen, BUT YOU GET NOTHING FOR DOING IT! Yeah sort of sad how if you reach the damage cap the game doesn't congratulate you or anything. This game even though is fun is also kind of short, Alphadia Genesis, and Asdivine Hearts are both far better and games. Which I recommend far more than this one. If anything Kemco LOOK AT THIS REVIEW, and put some of your older games on steam. I WOULD LOVE to play the original Alphadia games for example, but don't have the means to play them!Overall is this game fun? YesBut is this game inherently bad? No, like Revenant Saga it is still good, and in fact the story here is better than it was in that game. But which game would I recommend first? Well that honestly depends, for a better story this one, for a more interesting game both mechanic, and difficulty wise do Revenant Saga.. i'm 3 and a half hour through this runand i like the game alot.there are plenty of skits where for me occasionally let me laught SPOILERfor example there is a slime character in the game that is one of the main characters,a few she's pretty clumsy and fall leaving pools of her body on ther ground one part head and other part the rest of the body i also like the way the characters react to each other, it make me feel like they care for each other, rather then just be a group of travelers that just met each other.you can raise bonds with atleast three characters (maybe there is gonna be more later in the story).the main character that you play is bine and all bonds are related to him.bonds have affect on brave arts a skill that let you use one of the three different effect when the bar is full which is raised by attacking or casting spells (perhaps defence will also raise it didnt try it)the three brave art spells are.one. mimic a other monster there should supposbly be three diffectent monsters that one of the characters can change into (its only for one attack but its a rather heavy damage the one i got changed into :))two. healing all ally's health, mp, and state ailments.and giving speed buff, strength buff, intelingence buff, and defense buff.and three. no physical damage for 5 turns.combat wise (i play on hard mode) i feel like this game is a bit of a roller coaster sometimes its realy hard and sometimes it's a breeze there are 4 difficultys in total, easy, normal, hard, and hell.at the start i had a bit of trouble to win battle's, enemy took around 1/3 health a hit and had a quite working sleep spell. however after two lv's up it became much easier and i'm were able to defeat the first enemies.after that the game got a bit easy till the second boss i had to grind a couple of battle's to win this one since the boss took out half my health a hit and were twice as fast so a recipe for 1 character killed fastly as i could not heal the boss were just to fast.and that went on till the area of the fourth boss (game progress fast but till this area it felt like a tutorial zone with alot of info on how to spot hidden area's or how battle arts work as a example,i just defeated the fourth boss and i liked the battle.its just not just hit and heal, but required a bit of strategy and grinding. the boss have a skill that lower the damage of physical or magical attacks to one but ailments work just fine and i beated it mainly through poison doing a bit over 1k damage each enemies turn.my most liked future about battle are the ailments.its not just a one turn sleep or paralyse or poison no.sleep seems to break after you got hit, i had a character stay in sleep for three whole turns same as i did with one rather anoying enemy.paralyse is even worse 5 turns on me till it got cured, so my advice is bring items with you that cure ailments.there seems to be a couple of other ailments that i didn't try yet but if it's so effective like the previous then i'm thrilled to find out.enemie wise there are different variants normal, blue, red, and a other one i can't remember (there is a tutorial about it that explain the four)normal is just normal no extra statts or spells or something.red is higher damage and defense but slower speed.blue higher speed but lower damage and defense.you can also find treasure chests and rocks (breakable with pickaxe)as a (enemy).
